Sewn at home, one mat at a time.
Every mat in this shop is made by me, by hand, in our home. I currently offer 5 designs, and I started doing this because of my son Jordan. The full story is a bit further down the page.
Help us hit 500 orders before the year is over!

Jordan, outside our front door.
This is Jordan.
My name is Laura. I have two kids. Jordan is 3, and his little sister Mia is 2.
Jordan was born sick. He has cancer, and he's been living with it since his very first day. He spends most of his time in bed because the illness wears him out. But when he's awake, he wants to talk about cars. He knows the names, the shapes, the badges. It's the one thing that lights him up.
I've worked with textiles for years, so when I thought about what I could actually make for him and for people who want to help, it came together pretty quickly: car mats, sewn by hand, with him in mind on every single one.
Quality, honestly
I've been in the textile industry for years, and the people I know there are the reason I can get good materials at reasonable cost. That's a small advantage I want to put to use.
Each mat takes time. I'm not pretending to run a factory, and I won't ship something I wouldn't put in my own car. If a mat ever comes out with anything off about it, I'll redo it.
Where your money goes
We live in the U.S., and Jordan's treatment costs more than we can cover on our own. This shop is how we're trying to close that gap.
After material and platform costs are paid, every dollar of profit from these mats goes directly into Jordan's treatment.
I didn't want to just ask people for donations. I wanted to make something real and offer it in return. This idea is new, only a few weeks old, and I'm still learning as I go. But the mats are real, the work is real, and the reason is real.
Want a custom design?
If you'd like a different fabric, a different color, an exact fit for your car, or a design that isn't in the shop yet, just email me. I read every message, and I'm happy to make something specifically for you.
matsbylaura@gmail.comIf something isn't right
If your mat shows up and something feels off, the pattern isn't what you expected, the size isn't right, or there's a flaw in the work, please email me before doing anything else. I'll either fix it, remake it, or take it back. I want you to actually be happy with what you get.
Questions people have asked
Who is making these?
Me, Laura. Jordan's mom. I've worked in textiles for years. The mats are sewn by hand in our home.
How long does it take to get my mat?
I sew each mat to order, so please plan on about 2 to 3 weeks before it ships. If you need it sooner, email me and I'll tell you honestly whether I can do it.
Will it fit my car?
The standard mats are made to fit most cars. If you want an exact fit for a specific make and model, email me with the details and I'll cut it to size.
Where does my money actually go?
After material costs and the fees Shopify and the payment processor take, every dollar of profit goes into Jordan's treatment. I don't pay myself out of this.
Can I request a custom design?
Yes, please. Email me at matsbylaura@gmail.com and tell me what you have in mind. I'm open to fabrics, colors, patterns, all of it.
What if I don't like it when it arrives?
Email me. I'll fix it, remake it, or take it back. I'd rather make it right than have you stuck with something you don't want.
Why mats and not something else?
Two reasons. Jordan loves cars more than anything, so this is for him. And I work with textiles, so this is the thing I can actually make well with my own hands.
Thank you for reading this far. It means a lot. - Laura
